Student Program

Student Best Papers Competition

Students are a most valued attendee of M&C 2019.  They are our future professors, national laboratory staff and industrial workforce and will carry on with the necessary mathematics and computation that must accompany a vital nuclear enterprise.  Thus, we encourage student attendance by offering monetary prizes for best papers.  A panel of judges from academia, national laboratories, and industry will view student presented papers and choose the best three for monetary prizes of $250, $500, and $1000.  The winner will also receive a plaque in recognition  of their accomplishment.  All student papers with a student as first author will be included in the competition.

Student Assistant

Students can help run the conference volunteering as student assistant chair. Student assistants facilitate technical sessions and help the session chairs to introduce speakers and facilitate Q&A. Students that volunteer for at least three sessions will receive free conference registration.

Student assistants eligible for free registration should not register on the website, but will register on site. If interested, please send an email to the conference student program with the following information: full name, University affiliation, e-mail address, and cell phone number (if available). If you plan to give a presentation (oral or poster), kindly include the title of the paper and the track to which it was submitted.

Please note that you or your organization will be responsible for any other expense, such as meals, travel and lodging.  In addition, there are a limited number of free registration positions open.
