On behalf of the 2019 International Conference on Mathematics and Computational Methods Applied to Nuclear Science and Engineering (M&C 2019), The Mathematics and Computation Division (MCD) of the American Nuclear Society would like to formally invite you to attend the Eli Gelbard Scholarship fundraising event on Tuesday evening, August 27, 2019. The event will be held in the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon, aboard the Crystal Dolphin Vessel. Guests will enjoy a 2.5-hour yacht cruise down the Willamette River while enjoying amazing views and a locally sourced and freshly prepared northwestern cuisine. Your $60.00 donation will include the cruise, a three-course meal, and beverages (alcoholic & non-alcoholic).

Ely Gelbard was a distinguished long-time member of the Mathematics and Computation Division (MCD) and after his death in 2002, the MCD voted to establish a graduate scholarship in his honor. The Eli Gelbard scholarship is offered to full-time students pursuing graduate studies with a focus on the development of mathematical and/or computational methods for nuclear applications. The MCD is committed to contributing approximately one-third of the money required to fund the scholarship from their operating funds, but we need your help raising the remaining two-thirds, so donations over the initial requested amount are welcome.
